UHC Family Medicine Center was established on May 3, 1976. It is designed as a teaching facility where Family Medicine Residents can acquire and sharpen their medical skills and provide medical care under supervision of Faculty staff. Family Medicine Center is committed to providing the best care for you and your family.

After hour (after 4:15 pm daily) and weekends please call the hospital at 681-342-1000 you will be directed to a Resident Physician on call
- Acute beds in critical care, telemetry, medical, surgical, obstetrics, pediatrics
- Sub-acute beds in transitional care and behavioral health
- Inpatient and outpatient diagnostic and treatment services
- Other services including nationally accredited comprehensive community cancer center, emergency department, invasive cardiology
The United Hospital Family Medicine Center was built in 1970 with the foresight of Dr. Robert D. Hess, Dr. L. Dale Simmons, and Max Francis, CEO. The Family Medicine Residency Program received its accreditation and started their first class of residents in July of 1975. In 1991, the residency program became dual accredited with the inclusion of the osteopathic component. Because of UHC’s commitment for education, for over 30 years the UHC Family Medicine Residency program has produced quality medical care and excellent Family Medicine physicians for the greater Clarksburg area. About 60 percent of our graduates remain in the area, giving back to a supportive hospital and grateful community.
